Historic Sites & Haunted Spots
Founded in the late 19th century, Arlington has a rich and colorful past and dozens of historic sites to honor it. Top O’ Hill Terrace, often referred to as the “Vegas before Vegas,” was a popular destination in the 1920s for a respectable cup of tea and, well, some spirited (and illegal) gambling. Today, guests can pay a visit to see what still remains of this storied spot. Other popular sites include the Historic Fielder House, which includes exhibits relating to the history of Arlington and its surrounding communities.
Looking for something a little more of the occult? Thanks in part to its rich past, Arlington is home to a number of haunted spots. Take a trip to destinations like The Screaming Bridge or Hell’s Gate at River Legacy Park to hear the tales of the ghosts that haunt these places.

Locals love to get out to River Legacy Parks, a 1,300-acre park along the Trinity River with miles of hiking and biking trails, picnic areas, and a hands-on science center; or Crystal Canyon Natural Area, a hilly 40-acre preserve offering trails in a beautiful forest and rock terrain. Golf lovers will love the multitude of golf courses within city limits. A must-see is the world’s only Major League Baseball-branded golf course, the Texas Rangers Golf Club. The closest course to the Entertainment District, get some tee time in before the big game or a concert.

It’s no secret that Arlington is home to one of the best professional sports scenes in the country. With the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys both hanging their respective hats and helmets in this wonderful city, in Arlington, you can plan to catch a professional game all year long. Catch Texas Rangers baseball from April to September, Dallas Cowboys football from August to January, and Dallas Wings basketball in the summer.
